LASUTH CMD WINS TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADER AWARD

The Chief Medical Director of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Prof. Adetokunbo Fabamwo, recently won the Transformational Leader Award from the Office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation (OTCI) during its 2023 Lagos State Public Service Ideas Day Competition, with the theme:  “Building a Future-Ready Public Service” held at the Adeyemi-Bero Auditorium, Alausa.

According to the OTIC, the award was in recognition of LASUTH’s continuous commitment to providing quality healthcare services to the people of Lagos and its environs. It is well known that LASUTH is a multidisciplinary healthcare provider, that has grown in leaps and bounds over the years and this growth has continuously nudged the hospital towards becoming a quaternary health institution of repute in Nigeria, Sub-Saharan Africa and the world at large.

“All these would not have materialised but for the proficient management and excellent members of staff led by the visionary Chief Medical Director, Prof. Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo, who has constantly birthed various innovations that have creatively transformed the face of the institution”, it added.

 

While receiving the award, the CMD acknowledged the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for his unwavering support towards the hospital, in terms of funding, infrastructural development, manpower development and provision of adequate equipment.

He said, “Our mandate is to ensure that LASUTH becomes a one-stop shop tertiary health institution in Nigeria and Africa at large. In LASUTH, we are not content with being a tertiary institution, our dream is to become a quaternary institution in the near future and we are already on our way there”.

Fabamwo dedicated the award to the citizens of Lagos State, especially the hard-working staff of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).
