The Lagos State Urban Renewal Agency (LASURA) has vacated its office complex for reconstruction and relocated to a temporary office at the P.W.D end of the Old Secretariat, Ikeja.
The relocation, according to the General Manager, TPL Oladimeji Animashun was to effect the proposed redesign and rebuild of the office complex to conform with its status and mandate of the Agency.
He explained that the rebuilding of the office is part of the policy of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Administration to ensure public servants in the State work in a conducive environment with modern facilities.
Tpl. Animashaun said the relocation would last for about two years from when the new building is expected to be delivered as the contractor has already been mobilized to start work anytime from now, hence the movement has to be completed this week.
The General Manager, however, said the temporary office, formerly occupied by the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), is also an old building but is still structurally strong enough to accommodate his office for the period of their stay as LASURA can not be totally shut down due to reconstruction of its office complex.
While noting that little repairs are being done at the new location, Animashaun pointed out that the entire workforce of LASURA is supportive of the movement as they look forward to prompt completion and return to the new complex.

The General Manager therefore expressed gratitude to the Special Adviser on E-GIS, Dr. Olajide Babatunde for all his efforts at ensuring the relocation was quickly done by securing the approval of Mr. Governor for the project.
He assured Lagosians and those doing business with LASURA that despite the temporary movement of office, the Agency will continue to render improved service delivery towards Urban Renewal and Regeneration in Lagos State.
