The Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) has commenced its pre-sensitisation awareness campaign among members of the Lagos State Council of Tradesmen and Artisans (LASCOTA) across the 57 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).

It is part of LASRRA’s preparatory activities ahead of the much-anticipated Artisans Jamboree scheduled to hold at Adeyemi-Bero Auditorium, Alausa, Ikeja, on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

The exercise, which began on Friday, August 15, 2025, with Amuwo-Odofin and Oriade Local Governments, was held at Big Boy Arena, Alakija, Satellite Town. This would continue at different choice locations as determined by the different chapters of the Association.

The sensitisation programme is structured to engage two to three local governments at a time, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all 57 LGAs and LCDAs before the main event. The campaign focuses on creating awareness about the importance of residents’ registration and validation, as well as educating tradesmen and artisans on how registration enhances access to government benefits and programmes.

Speaking on the initiative, the General Manager, LASRRA, Mrs. Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola emphasised that the sensitisation programme reinforces the agency’s mandate to maintain an accurate and reliable residents’ database, which in turn supports effective policy planning and service delivery.

Adebiyi-Abiola, who was represented by the Director, Public Affairs, LASRRA, Basirat Lawal, therefore, called on all tradesmen and artisans to take advantage of the sensitisation visits in their respective localities to register or validate their details as the case may be before the Artisans Jamboree, which comes with different side attractions and excitements.

A major highlight of the sensitisation exercise is the on-the-spot registration and validation of participants who are yet to be captured in the LASRRA database. This step ensures that all attendees are eligible to enjoy the full benefits of being recognised as registered residents of Lagos State.
