Announcing the event, the Director, Citizens Engagement Department (OPL&CE), Dr. Babatunde Omotayo explained that the Permanent Secretary (OPL&CE) will directly engage with Resolvers to gain firsthand insight into operational realities, re-orient them on the newly introduced CitizensGate Version 2.0 to improve service delivery, as well as explore strategies for improved responsiveness tailored to each MDA.

Highlighting the importance of the session, he noted that the interactive forum is essential to sustaining the integrity and effectiveness of the CitizensGate App which remains Lagos State’s flagship digital feedback and civic engagement tool, adding that the event will climax in the co-development of a capacity-building roadmap to optimise digital public service delivery in Lagos State.

Reiterating the features of the Application, Omotayo said that since its launch in April 2023, The CitizensGate 2.0 version Application has been instrumental in promoting transparency, accountability, and a seamless interface between residents and government institutions and that engagement such as this will further expose the Resolvers to the upgraded features of the Application, integrate the workflows designed to simplify public engagement and accelerate redress of citizens’ concerns.

He added that the firm support of Mr. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, for the effective operation of the Application underscored the present administration’s commitment to leveraging innovation in creating robust communication pathways and ensuring a responsive, accountable government that places citizens at the heart of its processes.
