LASG SEEKS PARTNERSHIP WITH NDLEA ON ERADICATION OF HARD DRUG PEDDLING

The Lagos State Ministry of Housing has expressed its readiness to collaborate with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Lagos State Command, in the fight against the sale and use of hard drugs especially within State Government-owned housing estates.

 

This was disclosed during a courtesy visit by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) delegation, led by the Commander of the Lagos State Strategic Command, Abubakar Liman Wali. The visit aims to explore areas of mutual cooperation to strengthen community safety and promote healthy living among residents of government owned housing estates.

Welcoming the delegation, the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Abdulhafis Gbolahan Toriola, commended the NDLEA for its unwavering commitment to combating drug abuse and related crimes across the country. He also acknowledged the agency’s proactive role in promoting community awareness and rehabilitation of drug users.

Engr. Toriola reiterated the Ministry’s willingness to partner with NDLEA in its ongoing efforts to curb the activities of drug peddlers while also supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of drug addicts into society.

 

He further emphasised that the administration of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu remains resolute in eradicating drug-related activities among youths, as part of its broader sustainable development and community wellness agenda.

 

In his remarks, the NDLEA State Commander, Mr. Abubakar Wali, commended the Ministry for its openness to collaboration, stating that the agency remains committed to fostering national development through discipline, patriotism, and dedicated service to humanity.
