…as Special Adviser Inspects Power Projects

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Mineral Resources, Engr. Abiola Olowu has embarked on an inspection tour of some ongoing/completed electrification projects at Imota and the environs.

Speaking on the inspection tour recently, Olowo said the Babajide Sanwo-Olu Administration will do everything within its power to ensure a stable power supply to Imota Rice Mill and surrounding communities.

He stated that given the epileptic power supply to the area, the State Government had conceived and initiated some electrification projects towards proffering solutions to the inadequate supply of electricity to the mill.

Olowu said the power problem would be resolved as soon as the upgrading of the existing network from the T-off junction to the transformer and erection of HT reinforced concrete poles are completed with the dressing of materials and stringing of 150mm2 aluminium conductor.

He added that the installation of Five MVA, 33/11kv Power Transformer, 630A RMU SF6 VIP ringmaster with earthling is also about to be completed.

He reiterated that the installation of a 33kv outdoor circuit breaker, isolators and 33kv outdoor transformer control panel complete with inverter and air conditioner has been completed. This is in addition to the completion of the substation fencing with gate.

While informing that the safety gadgets put in place to protect the rice mill are still intact, the Special Adviser maintained that the State Government will ensure the full restoration and constant supply of power to the entire area.

Earlier, the Imota Rice Mill site Engineer from the Ministry of Agriculture, Engr. Hassan Oladipupo thanked the Sanwo-Olu Administration for the projects, describing them as the perfect solution to the epileptic power supply in Imota and its environs.
