In a bid to achieve transparency and equity in academic selection, the Lagos State College of Nursing, Igando (LASCON), has conducted Computer Assisted Screening (CAS) for qualified candidates for the 2025/2026 academic session. The entrance examination was held on Saturday, 13th September 2025, within the College premises.
In her address before the commencement, the Provost of Lagos State College of Nursing Igando, Dr. (Mrs.) Ogunmuyiwa Ayodeji stated that candidates who have scored 200 and above in the just concluded JAMB and chose Lagos State College of Nursing, Igando, as their first choice of institution are qualified to sit for the examination having met the necessary requirements laid down in the admission entry
Ogunmuyiwa emphasised the importance and purpose of the Screening, stating that the Nursing profession is not for the faint-hearted; only candidates capable and fit to undertake the course will be selected to ensure a fair and objective evaluation, as there is no compromise on the admission process. She stressed that competent candidates will be selected to compete favourably with the global market in developing the healthcare system into the best practice.
She encouraged candidates to show serious commitment to this exercise as they are in the right institution that trains students with both human and material resources.
In his remarks, Comrade Awojide Olurotimi, member of the Governing Council, Lagos State College of Nursing, commended the management and staff for the orderly and peaceful conduct of the screening exercise despite the large number of candidates. He also commended the candidates for presenting themselves in an orderly manner without any incident.
Awojide urged the candidates to remain resolute on the outcome of the Screening, not to lose focus, as candidates will emerge based on merit.
