The Lagos State Valuation Office (LASVO) is set to commence the Updating, Inspection, Verification and Tagging of all Lagos State Government property within the Secretariat Complex and environs using barcode-enabled labels.
The exercise, which will start with a physical inspection between Monday, 4th September and Friday, 10th November 2023, is geared towards updating government assets, keeping records, as well as creating and managing Fixed Assets Register for all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the State.
The Director of LASVO, ESV. Adekunle Awolaja explained that the exercise is designed to enable the State to keep records of government assets, value the State assets and ensure easy identification and location of such assets which would be uploaded into the Oracle Module to generate digital numbers as tags for all State Government assets.
According to him, all Properties, Plants and Equipment (PPE) of the State, must be identified to ascertain their condition, determine their economic worth in monetary terms and proffer recommendations for optimising usage of such assets. The Director revealed that the verification and tagging of government assets will comply with Global Best Practices.
ESV Awolaja, therefore, solicited the support of all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to provide the necessary information and assistance to the Agency staff who have been assigned to various offices for the exercise.
