The Lagos State Ministry of Establishments and Training on Friday launched a new in-house capacity building programme, tagged “Establishments Clinic”, under its Sharing and Learning Platform initiative. The programme is designed to equip officers in the Ministry with knowledge of extant rules, circulars and administrative regulations governing the public service.

Speaking during the inaugural edition of the Establishments Clinic, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Olubusola Abidakun, who was represented by the Director of Establishments, Mrs. Olubukonla Olagbaju, explained that the initiative was designed to ensure that staff are thoroughly grounded in the principles and guidelines that govern personnel administration.

“If staff are not grounded in the rules and regulations, they may not be able to advise appropriately at Personnel Management Board meetings,” Mrs. Abidakun stated. She added that the programme would be held monthly and would feature seasoned resource persons drawn from the civil service.
