The Lagos State Police Command has dismissed circulating rumours of an impending cult clash in areas such as Shitta, Akerele, Itire/Aguda, and Ishaga axis.
In a statement on Monday, the Command clarified that the alert was a false alarm and assured residents that the areas are fully secured.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, has deployed additional personnel and intensified patrols across the affected areas and adjoining communities to maintain peace and order.
Fatai urged residents to remain calm, go about their lawful activities, and disregard the misleading information.
The Command warned that it will deal decisively with anyone found spreading false rumours capable of causing panic or breaching public peace.
