
The Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources has commenced clearance operations in Festac Town axis of the state.
The clearance operation was embarked upon in partnership with the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), and the Amuwo Odofin Local Government.

According to a post on the X handle of Lagos Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, the exercise is focused on restoring order, clearing waste, and improving the environment for residents.
Wahab’s post reads: “Today, we are conducting clearance operations at FESTAC in partnership with LAWMA, LASTMA, and the Amuwo Odofin Local Government. This exercise is focused on restoring order, clearing waste, and improving the environment for residents.
“I want to sincerely thank the newly elected Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government and his team for reaching out to us for this important collaboration. This is the spirit of governance we must all embrace.
“For other newly elected council bosses, we are open to collaborating and working alongside you for a cleaner, greater Lagos.”
