The Assistant Inspector General of Police, in charge of Zone Eight AIG Bartholomew Nnamdi Onyeka, has retired from service presently.
Onyeka, who was the 28th Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 8 Headquarters, Lokoja, hails from Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State.
The former AIG who was in charge of three zones namely, Kwara and Kogi States respectively, graduated from the Prestigious University of Chandigarh, India in 1987 with a BSc (Hons) Art and a Master of Arts degree in Defence Studies from Punjabi University, Patiala, India in 1987.
He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on 3rd March 1990 as a cadet ASP, trained in the Police Academy Annex, Kaduna State.
A statement by Zone 8 Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), Inspector Awi Ruth said the AIG during his last Lecture with the Officers and men of the Zone advised that the job should be done with utmost dedication to duties and good ethics while handing over to DCP Sylvester Edigbanyan.
