KANO: State Govt Bans Use of Loudspeakers to Sell Traditional Medicines, Hausa Language Adverts…details

The Kano government has suspended the practice of street vendors using loudspeakers to sell traditional medicines, as well as the inclusion of traditional medicine advertisements in Hausa films.
The Kano State Censorship Board has directed that all promotions of traditional medicine in Hausa films, as well as those broadcasted by street vendors via public address systems, be ceased.

The Information Officer of the board, Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman, revealed this through a statement on Tuesday.
“Therefore, all traditional medicine advertisers, producers, and film owners are hereby instructed to stop airing or streaming any advertisements on television or the internet until they have obtained legal licenses through proper censoring,” the statement reads in part.
