JUST IN: Liberia President Weah Congratulates Tinubu As Nigeria’s President-Elect

Recently, the Liberia President, George Weah has sent congratulatory message to the new President elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for winning the Nigeria’s 2023 presidential election conducted on 25th February even though he lost his state Lagos to Mr. Peter Obi of Labour Party (LP) but the huge chunk of the nation votes all went to his favour and granted him victory as the next President Elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

 

The declaration of Bola Tinubu as the President elect by Independent National Electoral Commission INEC which took place on Wednesday 1st March, 2023 by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Wednesday, March 1, 2023.

Weah this day in a statement, congratulated Tinubu saying, he look forward to working with the newly elected Nigerian leader in order to strengthen the bond of friendship that exists between both countries.

 

He commended President Buhari over the successful democratic process and urge Nigerians to maintain the peace of their nation during such a huge democratic exercise while the Independent Foreign Observers Mission in Nigeria also commends the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the conduct of the February 25 presidential and federal parliamentary polls as preliminary report on Tuesday’s just-concluded election in Abuja, described the poll as peaceful and transparent.

 

According to the report read by David Furnad of the United States, he said; “The presidential elections in Nigeria recorded a high turnout of voters nationwide. It can also be regarded as one of the most transparent elections in the country’s history, with the significant candidates recording victories and defeats.

 

“The presidential election witnessed a comparatively large turnout of voters in the various geopolitical zones compared to other general elections in the country.
