…throws more light on the best candidate for House of Representatives and Governorship.

Ahead of the House of Representatives race, Cherryl Media decided to have a quick interview with one of the leading candidate of the said position, the candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Amb. Prince Igho Sadjere who is been geared by the Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie the entire people of the constituency as the best candidate to represent them this 2023 as they desire true development in their communities and local governments as the People’s Democratic Party led government candidate has failed them woefully. So let’s meet him as we proceed.

CBN

My names are Amb. Prince Igho Sadjere from Sapele Local government Area of Delta state. I am the House of Representatives candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP), I am vying for the position of Federal House of Representatives for Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie, I urge you all to consider the future and vote for me to bring in development OSU constituency.

We learnt you are the leading candidate among others so so far, give us an insight if some of your work done in the past one or two years before now to ensure ease the suffering of the OSU people?

As regards to the community projects, I have done in the OSU Constituency. I am a humanitarian and grassroot developer not undermining not been in any political position before now but the community I serve has been so proud of anything I do in my constituency.

I have been able to carry out several projects in my community, delivered water projects like bore holes from 2020 which over 200 people benefits from and the borehole project is still ongoing as I am working on delivering more.

As regards to healthcare of indegenes, I have also delivered free medicals in Sapele and Okpe in the past four years whereby we had a medical outreach and brought in medical experts, doctors, health personnels, also free medical attentions were given and free medications administered to ensure proper medical care to the villagers just to analyse and give solutions where neccessary.

I have been able to carry out these projects effectively with my team for like three days at a stretch. It has been a continous medical programme.

Also regarding economic empowerment, I have been able to give out funds to indegenes in the constituency as to encourage them in boosting their small scale businesses time without number instead of them depending solely at all times on the government.

Then in terms of employment, I have also personally engaged youths in small scale businesses and assist them in gainful employment both in the government or private sector.

Also as regards to peace making and development, I have a foundation called PISA HEARTS HUMANITARIAN FOUNDATION, we have been able to organise outreaches to preach peace in the constituency and help communities in reconciling conflicts affecting each community/constituency because without peace there would be no development and no co-existence in the constituency so I stand for peace and harmony as a leader and have single handedly delivered free health care service outreach, free education materials, job creation, water projects and peace accord in the Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie constituency.

But If you are to win the race, what are the 3 key things you will tackle as you assume office as the Federal House of Representatives member for OSU?

The key areas I wish to tackle immediately I assume office is to give a new face to proper leadership because what we have today in Delta state especially OSU Constituency is selective leadership instead of elective leadership and that is one reason development is not coming into the constituency and Delta state in general. If my people vote me into power as their House of Representatives member for Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie, I will put an end to selective government and boost elective government to tackle three key things; Firstly, I am going to give power back to the people because I will be representing them and they will be proud of having someone in such position representing the people’s interest.

Secondly, I am going to be having constant townhall meetings to tackle their major needs, it will be from a bottom to top approach inorder for us to effectively understand what they want because human want are unlimited but I will tackle some basic ones like the electricity bill, these communities are suppose to benefit personally on that electricity bill like Sapele which has Ogorode power generation and as the host community should naturally be entitled to constant light because they are suppose to benefit from that policy for uninterrupted power supply for more than 20 hours a day.

As regards to the seaport, I will ensure our moribund companies are brought back to life, I will revive our seaport in Sapele and try as much as possible to attract federal government presence to institutionalise some of our established schools in Sapele because I will definitely focus on technology so that the people of my constituency will be self dependent not on government anymore and that will be my primary focus which will help us quench insecurity from Sapele.

As regards to Okpe, my main focus will be to open a business space that will attract more investors to the local government area so that more youths will be gainfully employed with more business opportunities which will enable Okpe youths to have more better and peaceful environment.

I will also start up some mega projects in Okpe LGA to engage both old, young, male and female on good and quality governance project within the local government areas.

Then as regards to Uvwie, which is considered as a very open LGA because they have seen leadership as government, government thing so I am going to give back to them what they desire in terms of having constant townhall meetings with them inorder to know their major needs first like I said earlier from bottom to top approach will assist me in getting the needed project in place for them. So with those few approaches in place, we would be able to discuss and that will make me a better choice of leader in serving my people.

In few words, what is ur take on the governorship candidates line up for this 2023 race, who do you think will really deliver Progress in keeping his campaign manifestos to the state

We have the Social Democratic Party (SDP), People’s Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Labour Party (LP) these are the key parties we are to look up to but I will like to concentrate on the three key parties making waves in Delta state. Let me start with the candidate representing People’s Democratic Party (PDP) which is Sheriff Oborevwori.

He has been in the the House of Assembly representing the Okpe group for the past 8 years, to me lets look at what he done or attracted for Okpe and in my sincere conscience, he has been more of a passive person than active per say as regards to bringing the needed development to Okpe community.

Its is not just to be a speaker because you can be a speaker without your impact been felt in your community and that is the case of Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori because he does not understand much about leadership which has to do with attracting the good things to your constituency and giving to your people what they need and what Uvwie people really needed was just very simple, good things of life but he failed to get to done for them.

You might ask how did Sheriff Oborevwori emerged, he was hand picked or been favoured by the present governor of Delta state, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and to me I don’t see him as giving Deltans what they really deserve or need, so I will not even bother to score him as his record speaks less of a score.

Talking of the All Progressives Congress candidate, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege.The primaries for the APC was not properly accepted because the people were just like you won the race and then, what have you attracted to the community for the people, he has been the Deputy Senate President yet there is a “but” that space of what has he done for us”.

Deltans want more and expected more from him because he is in a robust romance with the APC at the center. He would have spread most of his projects to cut across all Local Government Area within the Delta Central but most of his projects was sighted just within his primary constituency which is considered as selfishness and I have never buy into it because I would’ve expected better from a man that carries the entire Urhobo nation at heart so I would be kind enough to give him a 40% pass mark as regards his leadership style.

Let me speak on the governorship candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi OON which is my party guber candidate. Gbagi is a man with a lion heart, has no godfather, a man with a strong leadership traits, an entrepreneur that believes in self development that all Deltans deserve the best and should come together to develop the state not minding your local government area or community.

Most of his achievements was out of government, selfmade man and for every position he has served with diligence, leaving a foot print of success, discipline and delivery with high integrity, no EFCC search light on him when others are been pursued up and down.

Gbagi was once a former Minister of Federal Republic of Nigeria under the former President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and during his tenure displayed hardwork, intelligence, excellence and delivery with 13 universities, 8 girls secondary schools and Polytechnics was established under his portfolio apart from that, he ensured ASUU was taken care of and that did not allow industrial strike to see the light of the day in the education sector then.

Gbagi as a lawyer, criminologist and enterpreneur believes that, one needs no godfather to succeed in life so long as you knows your capacity and that is exactly what Delta state needs to be to form proper progressive mind and force.

We as Deltans need to amend the rich culture of our people, Delta youths are the most intelligent, resourceful, skillfully blessed in terms of manpower.

So having Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi OON at the helm of affairs will assist Delta state at large to develop a strong master plan to industralisation, agricultural revolution to effective security for peace to exist and to cap it up to a greater and better Delta.

I am very excited with the slogan he came up with which is to “Liberate Delta” because Delta as a state need to be liberated. So in my own take, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi OON is the best candidate fit to govern Delta state effectively and I will definitely score him as the “Best of the Best” so far.

So what edge do you have over other candidates for this position?

Well! In this race, we have the SDP, PDP, APC, others but I will narrow down to these three pronounced ones. I would like to go one after the other, the person representing People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which is Evelyn Oboro, she has been in this particular position for over 8 years with no tangible achievement as regards to attracting development to her constituency; Okpe, Sapele and Uwvie.

As regards to leadership traits, she does not have that impetus to deliver what OSU Constituency presently needs. It was very unfortunate that People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as a body currently lacks qualified and credible personalities contesting for any position in government talkless of the Federal House of Representatives.

They are short of leadership qualities, skills and ideas that is needed in governance no wonder achieving development has been a big problem, the single reason she was hand picked to join the race notwithstanding she and been there without bringing unity or development which is needed in the constituency.

And that has been the style of PDP, they look for people that do not have the quality to represent the people because they only look at what they can benefit from the candidate instead of what the candidate will achieve for the constituency and state in general, so sad!

Honestly, It is a shame and very disappointing that this janjaweed style of PDP is happening because this is not where we should have been. Evelyn Oboro as a person lacks leadership qualities, sense of humour, and to top it all, not a bridge builder if not for PDP she cannot be able to even lead a community talkless of been a House of Representative member.

So to me, it is not something am going to be debating with her because if I am to do so, I will trash her.

Looking at our policies, she have nothing to show, I only need just 4 years to create a huge impact in OSU constituency and she was there loofing for about 8 years without bringing in any development in the constituency in terms of road, agriculture, education, security, even renovation of deplated government properties.

If you are in doubt, go and check how many bills she was able to pass or co-sponsored, nothing.

Coming to the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, I will not like to dwell much on him because what affected the PDP candidate also dealt with the APC candidate and coupled with the fact that, he has lots of albatross hanging on his neck which I will not like to delve into as it is already an open secret to the constituency and OSU will not forget it in a hurry as that alone made him very unfit and unqualified to contest for this Federal House of Representatives position as that will be staking his neck in the pot.

The APC candidate should not even go close to any leadership position as he was also once a local government chairman of Uvwie and bagged himself suspension for two serious reasons; misappropriation and steering up insecurity within his LGA and is seen as a fugitive running away from the law for sometime.

OSU Constituency needs people with distinguished and excellent character, proven records of success, great leadership skills, zeal to stand the test of time when the chips are down, a servant, a competent one for that matters and that I, Amb. Prince Igho Sadjere represents, it stands me out among other candidates which is a total assurance for OSU Constituency Progress!

I also wish to appreciate my people, Okpe, Sapele, Uvwie and the entire Deltans for standing so strong even in the face of all these challenges in Delta state and Nigeria as a whole. I wish to let all know that, it can only get better with true leadership, so I encourage all Deltans, Nigerians to get your PVCs ready to vote out bad leadership!

Let the people Lead!

Long live OSU Constituency!
