
The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has embarked on an inspection tour of various ongoing reconstruction and construction works at key heritage monuments across Lagos State.
The exercise was led by the Director of the Monument Management Department, Mr. Ladejobi Ibrahim, accompanied by some members of staff from the department.
The inspection covered the following notable sites:
The First Post Office in Nigeria, established in 1823 by the colonial administration, located in Epe.
The Film City Fencing Project at Ejirin, Ketu-Epe.
The “Door of Return” Monument, situated at Marina, Badagry.
The Tourist Information Centre and District Officer’s Residence, both in Badagry.
The Agia Tree Cenotaph, Badagry, a historic site where Christianity was first preached and the first Christmas was celebrated in Nigeria.
The Construction of Pedestals for Past Governor’s head busts and the incumbent at Lagos House, Ikeja.
