Uzodimma made this known on Tuesday, when he received the Chairman and members of the university’s Governing Board at the Government House, Owerri.

He expressed, “What is very endemic is corruption and lack of commitment on the part of the staff,” the governor lamented, insisting that the old ways of doing things must change.

He tasked the board with developing a strategic plan to attract investments into the university and address student moral decay.

“The way forward is automation and computerization. We need a system that provides accurate data on the nominal roll of students and the number of staff on government payroll,” he added.
