… Ogudu Lions Club also Donates Food-Vendor Stalls to School

 

The Lagos State Education District II has received the donation of 20 new Computers and a Multi-media ICT Centre as donation from Ikeja Unique Lions Club to Ogudu Junior Grammar School, Ogudu-Ojota, Lagos.

The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Education District II,  Mrs. Anike Adekanye stated that the project was donated by the Club to complement the efforts of the Lagos Government’s T.H.E.M.E.S PLUS Agenda, noting that the donation is a testament to the imperative of public-private partnership.

 

She expressed her satisfaction and gratitude towards Ikeja Unique Lions Club’s intervention, urging them not to relent in its services to humanity.

 

While noting that ICT plays vital roles in empowering students and shaping their future, the Tutor-General said “ICT Centres in Schools are like modern-day laboratories, fostering innovations, critical thinking and problem-solving.

 

They equip students with digital literacy, enabling them to adapt to an ever-changing technological landscape”.

 

Adekanye commended the President of Ikeja Unique Lion Club, (District 404B2 Nigeria) Lion Wilkey Abiodun Francis and other members of the club for their great contributions to the development of education for the betterment of the students.

 

Lion Aree Lekan Owolabi, the Lions Club International District 404B2 Governor, remarked that the project is an uncommon world-class project, adding that the Lions Club International is an association of volunteers towards service to humanity to make life better for people.

 

He congratulated the school and advised the management to adequately maintain the facility.Earlier the Ikeja Unique Lions Club President, Lion Wilkey Abiodun Francis disclosed that the project was embarked upon after the needs assessment was carried out in the school two years ago.

 

He thanked the TG/PS and the Principal of the School for allowing them to carry out the project, noting that the Government cannot do it alone as such every support from stakeholders is needed.

 

The Principal of the School, Mrs. Foluke Omisakin expressed her joy and gratitude to the members of the Lions Club for the donation, assuring them of adequate maintenance of the project.

 

Similarly, the Ogudu Lions Club (District 404A1) has also donated Food-Vendor Stalls as a Legacy Project for the 2022/2023 Lions year to Ogudu Junior Grammar School.
