The Inspector-General of Police @PoliceNG Kayode Egbetokun has ordered an immediate suspension of the July 29 enforcement of the e-Central Motor Registry (e-CMR).
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stated that the suspension aims to allow for public education on the e-CMR’s process, benefits and effectiveness.
Police officers have been instructed to stop requesting e-CMR certificates and any officer exploiting the public on this basis will be sanctioned.
Enforcement will be carried out by dedicated officers from a later date.
