The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Prof. Is-Haq Oloyede, has distanced himself from all social media handles bearing his name.
Oloyede denied operating a LinkedIn account and other social media handles bearing his name.
He explained that the LinkedIn account was aimed at defrauding unsuspecting members of the public by those he tagged “criminal elements.”
Speaking through JAMB’s Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, Oloyede urged the general public to be wary not to fall victim to the scammers.
A statement by Benjamin reads: “The attention of the Board has been drawn to a LinkedIn account purported to be the account of the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board(JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, and sending friend requests to members of the public. This is a ploy initiated with the sole aim of defrauding gullible members of the public.
“The Board wishes to state that Prof. Is-haq Oloyede does not own or operate any social media account, and neither has he asked anybody to open or manage one on his behalf.”
The Board said Oloyede does not belong to the class of people operating LinkedIn and other social media accounts.
Some “unscrupulous elements” had opened a LinkedIn account and have been sending friend requests to unsuspecting members of the public.
Those behind the account have made “bogus claims” to help unsuspecting members of the public to manage their careers, business enterprises, providing jobs, running a research firm or connecting people with business contacts.
