How NRC Alleged Involvement of Oyo LG Chairman in Destruction of Rail Assets in Ibadan…..details

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has accused Kehinde Amanda, chairman of Ibadan south-west LGA, of leading the destruction of railway assets.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the NRC said the council chairman arrived at the Mile One-Ten axis along the corporation’s right-of-way with a group that included suspected thugs, individuals dressed in Nigerian army uniforms, and operatives of the Oyo state security network agency (Amotekun).

Callistus Unyimadu, spokesperson of the NRC, said the group allegedly vandalised and carted away critical rail infrastructure, including rails, sleepers, signal poles, billboards, and fencing belonging to NRC tenants in the corridor.
