How Manchester United Sacked Head Coach Rúben Amorim

Manchester United have sacked head coach Rúben Amorim, the club confirmed on Monday.

 

The decision comes with United sitting sixth in the Premier League, despite Amorim guiding the team to the UEFA Europa League final in May.

-Amorim, who was appointed in November 2024, leaves with a Premier League win rate of 31.9 percent. The club said the decision was taken in the belief that a change in leadership would improve their chances of securing the highest possible league finish this season.

“Manchester United would like to thank Rúben for his contribution to the club and wish him the very best for the future,” the club said in a statement.

 

Former captain Darren Fletcher has been appointed interim head coach and will take charge of Wednesday’s Premier League fixture against Burnley.
