Governor Sule Presents 18 Nominees To Nasarawa Assembly As Overseers

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has submitted the names of 18 Overseers of Development Areas in the state to the State House of Assembly for confirmation.

Speaker of the House, Ibrahim Abdullahi, made the disclosure on Monday in Lafia after the House leader, Tanko Tunga, presented the Governor’s request to the speaker.

He explained that the 18 newly-nominated overseers who will be appearing for screening on Wednesday, are to coordinate the affairs of their respective development areas for speedy development at the grassroots if approved by members of the house.

“Pursuant to the provision of the Nasarawa State Local Government Law 2018, part XI ( 71), I have the honour to inform the Rt. Honourable Speaker that I have approved the appointment of 18 Overseers of Development Areas in the state”, the letter read in part.

Those nominated include Yunuf Amwe for Akwanga west, Bello Akoza for Ekye, Hamza Mohammed for Lafia East, Yusuf Ahmed Ba-allah for Lafia North, Mohammed Baba Abdullahi for Giza, Dauda Danladi Agbo for Dadare, Luka Ayele for Jenkwe, Yusuf Ibrahim Auta for Agidi, Moses Anvah for Akun as well as Shaibu Umar Loko for Loko development areas.

Others are Sadiq Akiri for Azara, Salihu Adamu for Udege, Ibrahim Arafat for Karshi, Dr Rabo Dakare for Panda, Yusuf Samson for Gadabuke, Illiyasu Miryam for Umaisha, Adamu Omale Agye for Agawada and Solomon Bande for Farin Ruwa Development Areas.

The speaker directed the clerk of the House to notify the appointees of the need to submit 30 copies of their Curriculum Vitae before the close of work tomorrow (Tuesday).
