The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has expressed warm felicitations to elder statesman and former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, on the occasion of his birthday today.

 

In his statement of goodwill, Governor Soludo described the former President as a phenomenal figure in Nigeria and Africa’s political landscape, whose contributions to the consolidation of democracy, peace, and development across the continent remain unparalleled.

Having had the privilege of serving under his administration as Chairman, National Planning Commission, and as CBN Governor, the governor witnessed firsthand his visionary leadership, his relentless pursuit of economic reforms, and his deep commitment to the unity and progress of Nigeria. His dedication to humanity extended beyond our borders, as he has continually lent his voice and wisdom to the pursuit of peace and stability across the world.

 

Governor Soludo highlighted Chief Obasanjo’s pivotal role in the transition from military rule to a stable democratic dispensation and his consistent advocacy for good governance. He further acknowledged the former President’s relentless efforts in conflict resolution on the African continent, describing him as a true pan-Africanist whose legacy continues to inspire.
