… Urges New Oba To Extend Hand Of Friendship To All
As part of the State’s Government efforts to entrench the importance of traditional institutions and their involvement in governance, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has installed Prince Ibrahim Olasunkanmi Lawal as the Oba of Isheri-Olofin Kingdom in Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area of Lagos State.
The installation which took place recently after the unanimous agreement of the ruling houses to select Prince Ibrahim Olasunkanmi Lawal as the Oba of Isheri-Olofin Kingdom and the directive of the Governor of Lagos, having met all the requirements demanded by the Lagos State Obas and Chiefs Laws.
While delivering his keynote address, the Governor encouraged the newly installed Oba to consolidate the qualities and the strength of his royal stool, so that the Isheri-Olofin Kingdom would enjoy the benefit that his reign had to offer them.
The Governor, who was represented by the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development; Mr. Bolaji Kayode Robert, also commended the Ilumore Royal Family and the Olanwa Ruling House of Isheri-Olofin Kingdom for ensuring they maintained a united front in the course of the selection of their king, appealing to all the sons and daughters of the great Kingdom, as well as, all residents and stakeholders to rally round the new Oba by supporting him.
Sanwo-Olu assured that the State Government will continue to ensure development initiatives and projects that are tailored to the specific needs of the people are executed in Isheri-Olofin Kingdom.
The newly elected Oba, His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Ibrahim Olasunkanmi Lawal expressed gratitude to Mr. Governor for approving his selection as the Oba of Isheri-Olofin Kingdom, adding that his leadership and vision for the State has inspired all and sundry.
Oba Lawal also assured that he would ensure that his domain aligns with the T.H.E.M.E.S. Plus Agenda of the administration of Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu. He appealed to members of the community to join hands with him to chart a new course for Isheri-Olofin Kingdom to foster development, growth and peaceful co-existence.
