Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, on Thursday appointed one-time governorship aspirant, Tivlumun Nyitse as his Chief of Staff.
Also appointed is the 2019 senatorial candidate for Benue North East Senatorial district on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, Mrs Mimi Orubibi as chairman of Board of Internal Revenue Service.
The appointments were confirmed by Governor Ortom’s Chief Press Secretary, Nathaniel Ikyur.
Recall that the former Chief of Staff, Terwase Orbunde and former Chairman of the Board of Internal Revenue Service, Andrew Ayaban had resigned their appointments on September 30, 2021, to pursue their political aspirations.
The new Chief of Staff was a retired permanent secretary who aspired to the state most exalted seat in 2019 and until his appointment as a University lecturer.
Mrs Orubibi had also served as the chairman of the State Board of Internal Revenue Service before she contested for the Benue North East Senatorial district on the platform of APC in 2019 but lost the election to a former governor of the state, Gabriel Suswam.
Orubibi who has just been reappointed as Chairman of Board of Internal Revenue Service a few weeks ago decamped to Peoples Democratic Party.
Ikyur who confirmed the appointment in a terse statement said, “The governor has approved the appointment of Dr Tivlumun Nyitse as the Chief of Staff.
“He (governor) has also re-appointed Mrs Mimi Orubibi as executive chairman of Board of Internal Revenue Service.”
