Governor Nwifuru Urges Students on Discipline to Constituted Authorities.

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi state has urged students to always play by the rules and regulations guiding their institutions, saying it is one good thing to matriculate,but a bigger task to be among those that would graduate and put on a hood on the convocation day.

 

Governor Nwifuru who was represented by the commissioner for Basic education, Prof. Paul Nwobashi made the remarks at the 1st matriculation of Blessed Martins college of Nursing science and 8th matriculation ceremonies of Blessed Martins International institute of Science and Technology Ohatekwe Amagu in Ikwo LGA of Ebonyi state.

Governor Nwifuru appreciated the proprietor of the institutions, member representing Ezza South/Ikwo Federal Constituency Reps Chinedu Oga for his contributions to the education sector and the society at large.

 

Addressing the matriculants, the founder and the proprietor of the institutions, comrade Chinedu Oga called on the students to see the period of their academic pursuit as the days of necessary sacrifices that would pay off in future.

 

He emphasized the need for the students to synergize for a better learning environment adding no department in the institution can grow without the help of others.

 

Oga expressed immense gratitude to the host community for not only giving them land to build the institutions, but the peaceful atmosphere the school community is joining.

 

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Tertiary institutions Prof. Amara Omaka SAN said the school has become one of the standard institutions of learning in the East of the Niger,adding Comrade Oga has lived above board at ensuring he gave back the society what he has.

 

Earlier, in his address, the Deputy Speaker of the Ebonyi state House of Assembly, and chairman of the occasion, Chinedu Ona who was represented by the Dean Centre for human resources, Alex Ekweme Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo AE-FUNAI Prof. Fidelis okpata underscored the importance of technical education in contemporary society.

 

In his welcome address, the Rector of the school -++ said the essence of students’ matriculation was to administer the oath of allegiance on the new entrants into the institution.

 

Other speakers include: the Chairman Ikwo LGA, Sunday Nwankwo, a lecturer with the Federal University Lafia Nasarawa State Prof. Usman Oga and the proprietress Mrs Mary Chinedu Oga.
