From the day Engr. Ben Akak defected to the All Progressive Congress, APC, the party became a household name. Akak took APC to nooks and crannies of the state single handedly, there he preached love, unity, fairness, equity and transparency.
In his magnanimous being, he empowered youths in different spheres across the 18 LGAs and beyond, ranging from free cinematography training, scholarship, creating jobs for teaming youths, placing succour for undergraduates, graduates, post graduates etc. Akak constantly visiting the traditional institution, church, Muslim community, aged people, orphanage and People With Disability (PWD).
Charitably, Akak went further to drill an electric boreholes across the three senatorial nabe without a backer, and this was done out of love. I called him, the “doer” because he did, his’s doing and he’ll be doing.
Politically, Akak believes that politics is not do or die affairs. He came to politics to help his people and also to change the narrative, he believes in equity and justice.
Akak loves his boss, the governor of Cross River State, Prince Bassey Otu and his people, he made a statement and I quotes him, the interest of my people is Paramount, therefore we’ll work to deliver back to South mandate.
This was after the concord meeting that produced the then Senator Prince Bassey E. Otu as a consensus candidate and currently, the state governor.
After Governor Otu was nominated as a consensus candidate of the APC, Akak was the first to extend his sportsmanship fellowship to Otu because he loves him and he wants the best for his people. And he said, this turn is for the south, we were to go against the decision, but we said NO, that Prince Otu is my Boss, and our son, he’s from the south, we will stand with him, fight with him till the end.
Looking at the swearing-in, as a governor, Akak was the first to arrive at the venue. During the electioneering period, Akak came out first with a landslide results for APC (3/3). This is to tell you that Otu’s mandate, and the southern’s mandate, Akak is much interested because he loves his people.
The love he has for his Boss and his people is unconditional.
Thank God for Akak because I don’t know what would have happen if Akak left the APC before the election.
Akak is exceptional, let’s appreciate him.
