The executive Governor of Enugu state, Peter Mbah has the Indonesian ambassador to Nigeria, Dr. Usra Harahap, who led a team of senior delegates from the Republic of Indonesia. He expressed the country’s interest in deepening relations with our state in the areas of trade, investment, and other socio-economic spaces for mutual benefits.
While exploring the areas of interest that could lead to a productive partnership between Enugu State and Indonesia, the ambassador noted that investing in our state would solidify bilateral ties and create more opportunities for mutual growth and prospects of further investments in the future.
Dr Usra said Indonesia’s expertise can help to increase agricultural productivity and ensure food security in Enugu State. He also expressed Indonesia’s willingness to collaborate with our state in areas such as food processing, agriculture machinery, irrigation, and education through scholarship programme, to afford brilliant Enugu students postgraduate and undergraduate opportunites in the Asian country.
Indonesia’s plans to invest in our energy and mining sectors delights me because Enugu State is rich in mineral resources, agriculture and tourism. I therefore commended the ambassador and his team for picking special economic interest in Enugu State, while also informing them that we have created an enabling business environment, and are ready to partner with Indonesia.
To ensure that Enugu becomes the best state to invest in, my government has already activated the mechanisms that would derisk investment flow and enable the ease of doing business, among other strategies.
Tomorrow is here.
