Governor Sheriff Oborevwori today honored the funeral of Chief Frank Kokori, a revered figure in Nigeria’s democracy, held in Oviorie-Ovu, Ethiope East Local Government Area. Despite political differences, Oborevwori’s presence at the ceremony underscored his respect for Kokori’s legacy as a nationalist and labor leader.
The Governor’s solidarity with the late Kokori’s family and the Agbon clan showcased his commitment to unity and respect for diverse contributions to Nigeria’s history and progress.
The event, attended by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by the Minister of State for Petroleum, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, emphasized, “Chief Frank Kokori is one of the foremost nationalists Nigeria has ever produced.” Adding that he was a man of uncommon courage, a selfless leader who put the interest of Nigeria first before his personal interest.
