Following the recent Killings at Amegu Nkalaha Community in Ishielu Local Government Area Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi state has disclosed that the preliminary investigation by Security Agencies has shown that the dastard act was perpetrated by some criminal elements in the community not herdsmen as alleged earlier, describing it as barbaric
Governor Nwifuru who made the revelation during church service at centenary city, new Government House Chapel also announced the appointments, of key principal officers of Ebonyi state University as he named, Prof. Michael Ugota Awoke the new Vice Chancellor,
Prof. Ike Elechi Ogba Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Michael Ajanwachukwu Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, Others are: Mrs Ugochinyere Mba Uka , Registrar; Mrs Roseline Nwuzor, Bursar and Mrs Victoria Nwali, Chief Librarian.
Michael Awoke is a Prof. of Agricultural Economics and Former Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic of the State University. Tuesday 11th February, 2025 has been designated for their swearing-in. Adding, appointment of Awoke was as a result of the recommendation of the governing council.
In a related development Governor Francis Nwifuru has also Recalled Four Suspended Commissioners in the state.They are , Commissioners for Health Dr. Moses Ekuma; Water Resources, Hon. Chinedum Nkah; Housing, Francis Orji and Local Government, Uchenna Igwe.
He however, warned contractors handling Government projects to ensure speedy execution or face the wrath of the Government.
