Gov. Nwifuru Assures Robust Security Network, Throw Weight Behind Community Policing

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has called for the introduction of Community Policing as that would serve as solution to the security challenges facing the country.

Nwifuru spoke Tuesday in his office Government House Abakaliki, during a courtesy call by the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 9 Umuahia Suleman Yusuf

He attributed the peace and tranquility in the State to the co-operation of the police.

adding Community Policing is the best option in crime prevention. The reason is because you must first of all know the terrain before you act.

He called on the Nigerian police to introduce a reward system that will encourage officers and men of the Force to carry out their duties more effectively.

“We must at this point encourage performing officers by rewarding those who put their lives on the line to protect lives and property of the citizens

“I have personally encouraged Officers who are performing creditably.

Earlier, in his speech, the AIG told the Governor that the purpose of the visit was to interface with the officers and men of the command to enhance their operations.

“I am equally here to appreciate you for the support you have been given to the police in Ebonyi State to be able to perform excellently.

“Ebonyi State is most peaceful compared to others in the Zone.

Yusuf who assumed office as AIG zone 9 on the December 3, 2024 thank Governor Nwifuru for all he has been doing for the Officers and men in the Command.
