The Medical Director/Chief Executive Officer of General Hospital, Somolu, Dr. Mustapha Adebola Quadri, has reaffirmed that he will continue to do everything in his capacity to ensure that in-patients and out-patients of the hospital receive quality medical care.
Dr. Quadri disclosed this during a meeting with the management team at the hospital’s facility recently.
According to him, this aligns with the firm commitment of Mr. Governor-Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu to ensuring that the residents in the area receive adequate health care coverage.
Dr. Quadri said the love of Mr. Governor towards the residents has led him to take bold steps to build a new world-class hospital for the people of Somolu and its environs.
He stated that it is against this backdrop that the reconstruction project earmarked by the State Government for the facility has begun to take shape with the visibility of site operations in the area.
According to him, the clearing of the site, in preparation for the gigantic new edifice, has been underway for the past few weeks. He added that site preparation that is ongoing for the significant expansion of the hospital also includes building a house to shelter the marine bolts, cement and other materials for work, sinking of a borehole for water and a workers’ lodge, among others.
Recall that the Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, during his recent tour of the facility, gave assurance to residents that Mr. Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has reiterated that the new hospital building, which will serve the medical needs of the people, is expected to be completed within a short period.
