PRESS RELEASE

The attention of the Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Delta State, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi FNIM, OON, has been drawn to a publication in the social media, by an impostor, Oke Idawene, who has been suspended from the party.

CBN

Idawene, has been a black leg in the party for years alongside with others and he is presently awaiting to be invited to face a Panel set up by the National Chairman, Alhaji Musa Gabam for his inability to put a protracted crisis within the Delta State Chapter, under control and, worse more, the unworthy roles being played by members of the State Executive Committee in the matter.

For the avoidance of doubt, the National Working Committee (NWC), of the Social Democratic Party, on 2nd of May 2023, in a letter by the National Secretary, Dr. Olu Agunloye, suspended him over ‘indiscipline, anti-party activities and gross disrespect to constituted authorities”.

Also suspended are his co-travellers, with whom he sold Delta State SDP for a plate of a “red pottage”, Peter Isioma Okaegwu, Vice Chairman, Delta North, Clint Amor-Ag. Vice Chairman, Delta South, Matthew Ogisi-State Organizing Secretary, Joe Seipulou – State Treasurer are amongst others.

They claim to hold positions at the State Headquarter, deceiving unsuspecting members of the party and public, whereas they use the party for their own selfish and stomach infrastructure, particularly Idawene, who is an SDP in the day and PDP at night.

It is untrue that Olorogun Gbagi, the SDP flag bearer in the March 18th 2023 election and former minister of state for education, has withdrawn his petition from the tribunal neither the Social Democratic Party in Delta State, has denounced its knowledge and not party to the said petition.

The sponsor of the shameful publication that “SDP dumps Gbagi, denounces litigation against Oborevwori”, is laughable, ridiculous and should be ignored completely.

In fact, the party is strongly with its standard bearer in the election, knowing fully well that he (Gbagi) is the only qualified candidate who contested the election. Hence, he and the party has gone to the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal to seek the disqualification of his opponents, Sheriff Oborevwori, of PDP, Ovie Augustine Omo-Agege of APC, Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru of APGA, Ken Pela of Labour Party as contained in the petition.

It is therefore a ruse, rascality taken too far by Idawene and his unscrupulous elements to say SDP in Delta State denounced the litigation. Therefore reports sponsored by Idawene should be disregarded and ignored by all party members, supporters, other stakeholders and the general public as the handiwork of mischief makers.

The Nigerian Police Force, DSS and other security agencies are enjoined to take note of the naughtiness and evil intent to cause disharmony and a breach of public peace by Idawene, a political jobber.

The general public, party members and stakeholders are therefore advised to discountance the said publication, and view it as the worthless undertaking of men with crooked intentions.

For the records, those in the saddle of the affairs of the Social Democratic Party in Delta State includes Chief Mrs Esther Ikule (State Chairman), Tony Emeronanjo Onyisi (Vice Chairman North), Solomon Pere Daubri (Vice Chairman South), Mike Dugbo (Vice Chairman Central), Enebraye Hanson Kembigha (State Secretary), Oghenekaro Blessing Ighoboja (State Organizing Secretary).

Others are: Clement Oghoje (State Youth Leader), Mrs. Gbanakumo Eseimokumoh (State Woman Speaker), Chief Gabriel Ibede (State Treasurer), Barr. Afeogba Peter Goodyear (State Legal Adviser), Mrs. Timi Edema Elo (State Welfare Secretary) and Matthew Ogisi (State Labour & Civil Society Secretary).

Therefore, anyone who does any business with the name of SDP with the erstwhile chairman, Oke Idawene, does that at his/her own risk.

Orusi Kenneth,

Chief Press Secretary to Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi FNIM, OON

SDP Governorship Candidate,

Delta State.
