The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has secured the conviction of a motorist who assaulted and abducted one of its operatives during a patrol along the Kubwa Expressway in Abuja.
The incident occurred when officers from the Dutse Alhaji Unit Command stopped a Toyota Hilux for routine enforcement. The driver reportedly resisted, leading to a confrontation in which an FRSC marshal was attacked and taken against his will.

The suspect was subsequently arrested with the support of police personnel and taken to the FCDA Police Station in Kubwa, while the vehicle was impounded.
Following prosecution, the court convicted the offender, ordering the payment of a ₦72,000 fine or a three-month prison sentence. The court also awarded ₦50,000 as compensation to the assaulted officer.

FRSC Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, condemned the attack, stressing that assaults on traffic officials undermine public safety and the rule of law. He urged motorists to comply with regulations and cooperate with enforcement officers.
The Corps reaffirmed its commitment to working with security agencies and the judiciary to ensure accountability.
