Kenya Airways has paid the sanction fee imposed by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) over infractions involving Gloria Omisore and other consumer protection-related cases.

The NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, confirmed the development in a statement on Thursday, September 18, via his X handle.

“After a number of meetings, including a visit to the NCAA by the Kenyan High Commissioner to Nigeria and officials from the airline and JKIA, Kenya Airways has, on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, paid the sanction fee as penalty for the Gloria Omisore and other consumer protection-related infractions,” the statement reads.

Achimugu explained that NCAA sanctions are not designed to punish operators but to improve flight operations, particularly in safety and passenger handling protocols.

He noted that while Kenya Airways has a long-standing relationship with Nigeria, the payment of the fine does not conclude the issues, as the timeframe for resolving the cases has elapsed.

“The NCAA will follow through and assures both passengers and airlines of its commitment to protecting their rights and responsibilities,” he added.
