The Federal Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) and the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to strengthen data protection and privacy in Nigeria’s telecommunications industry. The signing is part of broader efforts to safeguard citizens data and enhance regulatory collaboration across critical sectors.

The MoU will ensure effective inter-agency cooperation, with both NDPC and NCC committing to full implementation and compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA). The agreement underscores the Federal Government’s resolve to improve regulatory coordination, prioritise data privacy, and secure personal information in the digital economy.
