The Federal Government has approved the appointment of Chief Medical Directors for Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, and Jabi, Abuja.
This was disclosed in a statement shared on the X account of the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, on Friday, March 22.
Dr. James Omietimi was appointed as the Chief Medical Director of the FMC Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, for an initial term of four years with effect from February 27, 2024 and Professor Sa’ad Ahmed was re-appointed as the Chief Medical Director of the FMC, Jabi, Abuja for a second four-year term with effect from February 27, 2024.
The statement reads in part: “The Federal Government has approved the appointment of Dr. James Omietimi as the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, for an initial term of 4 (four) years with effect from February 27, 2024 and the re-appointment of Professor Sa’ad Ahmed as the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Jabi Abuja for a second 4 (four) year term with effect from February 27, 2024.
“Minister of State for Health, Dr. Tunji Alausa, while presenting the letters of appointments to the Medical Directors recently in Abuja, said their appointments is purely based on merit and charged them to ensure that the system at their hospitals are effective.
