FG Announces Approval Contract for  Procurement of Tractors, Machinery, Vehicles

Federal government has approval of the contract for the procurement of tractors, machinery, implements, and vehicles.

 

The total contract amount is $117,830,783.00, along with ₦28,439,777,100.00 to account for expenses related to clearing, customs duties, levies, and delivery to various locations throughout the country. The delivery timeframe is set between 60 to 360 days.

The minister of Agriculture and Food Security Abubakar Kyari said, “I am pleased to announce that the Federal Executive Council has approved a memo I presented as the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security for the award of a contract to procure tractors, machinery, implements, vehicles, equipment, and spare parts for the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanization (NCAM).

 

“This initiative is aimed at strengthening national food security and reducing import dependency. It will also drive national development in both public and private sectors by enhancing agricultural productivity, increasing profitability, and optimizing land use for a broader range of crops.

 

“The selected firm will partner with us in two stages:

 

“Stage 1: Execution of the contract with the Federal Government through the Ministry of Agriculture for the supply of ready-made tractors, machinery, vehicles, equipment, and spare parts.

 

“Stage 2: Transition to local assembly of a full range of agricultural machinery under a domestic brand at the established assembly facilities.

 

“The total contract sum stands at $117,830,783.00 plus ₦28,439,777,100.00 to cover the cost of clearing, customs duties, levies, and delivery to locations across the country, with a delivery timeline of 60 to 360 days, inclusive of 7.5% VAT.

 

“This strategic partnership will undoubtedly boost our efforts in achieving food security and advancing agricultural mechanization across Nigeria.”
