Ahead of the election polls, 2023 presidential election is set to hold on 25th of February, 2023, many religious leaders have reportedly taken sides on their preferred candidates.
However, some clerics have remained mute on this. This gave birth to claims that ‘they’ are secretly supporting a candidate.
In this light, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E. A. Adeboye has finally cleared the air on his preferred presidential candidate.
According to Pastor E. A. Adeboye: “I have little talk for you all because I need to get this cleared once and for all.
My assignment is to pray for you and pray for nations including Nigeria.
My assignment has nothing to do with partisan politics. Don’t distract my attention.
“Every genuine member of RCCG will bear me witness that I have never told you people the candidate to vote for. I will never tell you the party you should belong to.
This is because every party is heavily represented in RCCG. Automatically, I am a father to all of them.
The only reason I have not voted is because if I vote for anyone, I will be unjust to the rest of my children.
This is to say that I don’t have any preferred candidate”.
