…if they dig deeper into case of Edu’s predecessor, they will see nothing less than N100bn – N300bn – Chief Gani Adams
The Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba Land, Chief Gani Adams speaking about the alleged corruption in the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, has alluded to questionable activities during the tenure of Betta Edu’s predecessor, insinuating a potential mismanagement of funds ranging from N100 billion to N300 billion. He suggested the need for a thorough investigation into certain ministers, pointing out Betta Edu’s alleged carelessness in transferring money to a single account.
He hinted at the possibility that some individuals might employ sophisticated tactics, using multiple accounts for such transactions. He expressed a gender-based stereotype, stating that women generally lack the inclination or courage to embezzle money compared to men. He further urged the President to initiate investigations to uncover these alleged financial irregularities.
He said in an interview with The Sun, ”A lot of things would unfold if they start investigating some ministers. The President should start investigating them. Betta Edu was careless in transferring the money to one account.
There are some smart people who would use like 15 to 20 accounts. Women don’t know how to steal money, women don’t have the heart to steal money like men. And if you dig deeper into that ministry, the former minister of that Humanitarian ministry, a lot of things happened, even messier, during the time of Buhari. If they dig into the case of Edu’s predecessor, they will see nothing less than N100B – N300B looted. In such a case, when you hear about bad governance and the things going on, you will not be happy, and you won’t blame those people who Japa out of the country.”
