The Senate Deputy Chief Whip and Senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi has gifted a three bedroom bungalow to a widow, Mrs Patricia Nwofoke at Adam village Ndiuruku Amagu in Abakaliki Local Government Area of Ebonyi state.
Nwebonyi who also handed over another three bedroom bungalow to a less privileged Woman Mrs Nnenna Adoke at Ndigwe Igbegu in Izzi Local Government Area. and eight thousand water tank motorized borehole at Ndiuruku Amagu primary school Abakaliki LGA said the projects were part of his Constituency projects for the year 2024.
Senator Nwebonyi explained that he was moved by the dilapidated nature of Mrs Patricia Nwofoke’s house during which he attended a program in the Community adding she was nominated by the Bishop of Abakaliki Catholic Diocese, Peter Nworie and he gave it express approval, hence he had it in mind before her nomination by his lordship.
He informed, he had started building houses for people who lived in poor shelters when he was in active legal practice and God saw his passion to uplift less privileged persons in the rural areas he gave him the opportunity to be in an exalted political position so that he can do more for those who need help.
He emphasized the importance of complementing the efforts of the state Governor, Francis Nwifuru who was working tirelessly to provide basic needs of the people of Ebonyi state through his people’s Chatter of needs mantra adding, the Governor is reticulating pipe bore water in the city, he would be providing prime and motorized boreholes in the rural areas.
He said he would always key into the pet project of the wife of the governor, Uzoamaka Nwifuru to ensure that widows and downtrodden in the society are given a sense of belonging notwithstanding outpace.
He noted that he has built ten bungalow houses in the 2024 appropriation which five of it has been completed and commissioned between last year and today, saying he had attracted construction of 18 kM road that expanded the four council Areas in his Senatorial District among other projects.
In the area of four thousand missing police rifles according to the report from the office of the Auditor, Nigeria Police Force, Nwebonyi revealed that the IGP has furnished the Senate with the comprehensive reports on how those rifles disappeared and the number of police officers who were killed and snatched their arms.
Recall that the Senate Deputy Chief Whip had charged the Inspector General of Police-Kayode Egbetokun to immediately account for the 4000 missing rifles under his watch when he appeared before his committee for police budget defence.
Filing questions from the newsmen, the wife of the Ebonyi state Governor, Uzoamaka Nwifuru said she was happy with the effective representation of Senator Nwebonyi noting she began to wonder why other National Assembly members from Ebonyi State are not doing what Nwebonyi is doing since assumption of office.
Mrs Nwifuru expressed optimism on the quality representation of Nwebonyi adding he has earned himself a second tenure in the national Assembly..
In commemoration of the celebration of Valentine’s Day Mrs Nwifuru also visited menial job seekers and Bergers stands in the state where she shared an undisclosed amount of money. Mrs Nwifuru who performed all the commissioning ceremonies admonished beneficiaries to make judicious use of the edifices for the benefit of the donor and Ebonyi North Senatorial District.
