Ebonyi state Ministry of Health, has been thrown into deep mourning following the death of one of her staff, the Assistant State Immunization Officer, Joseph Ukwu who lost his life yesterday in a ghastly motor accident while discharging his official duties.
Mr. Ukwu who was one of the best hands in the ministry, rose from a meeting the Commissioner held with staff at the Ministry’s conference hall in the morning and went to immunization campaign ‘Big Catch Up Campaign’ at Ikwo Local Government Area of the State before the sad news filtered the air in the afternoon.
The Commissioner Moses Ekuma whose heart bleeds commiserate with the immediate family, his colleagues and the entire staff over the unfortunate incident.
He advised everyone to draw consolation from James 4:14 where the Bible says that life is like a vapour that appears for a little time and vanishes.
Dr. Ekuma while describing his death as painful, continued that since life is uncertain and tomorrow cannot be guaranteed, let us take his demise as the will of God.
He prayed God to grant his soul eternal rest and give us as well as his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
