Deputy Speaker Akpowowo And Ethiope East New Rating In Delta Mainstream Politics.
Suddenly, the yoke of political irrelevance and backwardness was broken with the speed of light in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State. And how did it happen?
Delta State Governor, Elder Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, attributed the sudden rise of the the LGA in the realm of politics to the character and person of the member representing Ethiope East State Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Arthur Akpowowo Esq, a political strategist, legal icon and Justice of the Peace.
According to the governor at a Thanksgiving Service in Eku on Sunday August 6, the LGA remained in the back seat of the state political equation, because it failed to win elections for a staggering period of 20 years, an embarrassing yoke that was broken on March 18, when the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, rocked the political boat of the All Progressives Congress, APC, through the efforts of party faithfuls, oiled by the massive popularity, goodwill, loyalty to party and humility of Hon Akpowowo.
Not only did Akpowowo broke the jinx of political barrenness in Ethiope East politics, he also unanimously emerged as the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly. And if you refer to Akpowowo as a child of destiny and a yoke broker, you will not be wrong.
And in all of these blessings and breakthroughs, we shall continue to give God the Glory, for the divine resurrection of Ethiope East LGA in electioneering politics in the state. It can only be God.

According to governor Oborevwori, Akpowowo’s humility and love for party paid off for him, and urged him to continue to sustain his charming and charismatic qualities, absolute dedication and honesty to his legislative functions, to his colleagues and serve to humanity.
It is also very important to thank His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State and leader with excessive street credibility, Elder Oborevwori, and our superstar National Leader and PDP Vice Presidential Candidate, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, CON, for their love and support for both Hon Akpowowo and the good people of Ethiope East State Constituency, in the present political dispensation.
It is therefore, very important for all of us in Ethiope East LGA, and across the state to continue to support Oborevwori administration, do whatever we can to ensure that his M.O.R.E agenda is implemented to fruition.
