… Says former DSP can’t emerge governorship candidate in 2027

Former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege have been told that he will not emerge as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State, come 2027.

Director General, Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, made the prediction during a public affairs radio program monitored in Asaba on Saturday, saying that the powers that be at the centre had since commenced the grooming of someone else to fly the APC governorship flag in the forthcoming election.

He posited that the good people of Delta State are happy and impressed by the level of unprecedented ongoing infrastructural development across the three senatorial districts, assuring that Deltans will never succumb to Senator Agege’s falsehood and lies against governor Oborevwori.

He noted that the problem with Senator Ovie Omo-Agege is that he lacks result oriented political strategies required at this time to compete favourably in the boxing ring of politics, adding that the laughable, unwarranted and uncivilized attacks on the performing governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, cannot and will never yield any positive result for his (Agege) 2027 blurred governorship ambition.

Dr Oghenesivbe asserted that Senator Agege goofed over the weekend when he was quoted by a section of the media as saying that governor Oborevwori should be held to account for funds received from Federal Allocations, noting that Agege mischievously and deliberately trivialized all ongoing mega projects in the state, including the three flyovers in Delta Central Senatorial District where he once represented the people as a federal lawmaker, but could not influence the rehabilitation or construction of any major road project for the senatorial district.

The State Communication Bureau Director General, reminded Senator Agege that governor Oborevwori, was recently adjudged the most prudent manager of State resources by new media practitioners in Nigeria, and in the same token won $400,000 Bill and Milinda Gates funds as the overall best state in public health management, in recognition of the state government huge investments in the sector, especially the upgrade of health facilities, and provision of quality drugs for state hospitals and primary healthcare centers across the state.

He disclosed that governor Oborevwori saved over N250 billion from operating cost in less than two years as a prudent manager of State resources, and paid over N160 billion out of inherited state debt profile of over N400 billion, currently executing solid and durable road infrastructure projects across Delta State, including the rapid dualization of Ughelli-Asaba highway, several ongoing roads construction and rehabilitation, rapid construction of Beneku mega bridge, and other projects across all sectors, and counting.

Dr Oghenesivbe further stated that Senator Agege saw nothing good in all completed and ongoing projects across the state. He decided to sarcastically quote financial figures, failed to review the governor’s unprecedented level of infrastructural and socioeconomic development since he assumed office less than two years, adding that the good people of Delta State cannot and will never be cajoled by Senator Agege’s falsehood, lies, deceptive tendencies and politics of bitterness.

“On a regular basis, the Oborevwori administration has been empowering thousands of Deltans, youth and women, and also providing funds to boost existing Small and Media Scale Enterprises, SMEs in the state through D-CARES programme and the State Bureau for Wealth and Job Creation, running into billions of Naira.

“Senator Agege decided to look the other way, failed to appreciate governor Oborevwori for his visionary leadership and enviable performance. This is not how to play opposition politics.

“Senator Agege is busy enjoying himself in Abuja and around the world. He had since lost touch with the unprecedented development going on in Delta State, which is why he’s blinded to the good governance strides of governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

“Am telling you for free that Senator Agege has been left behind in Delta APC mainstream politics. He will obviously bite his fingers in 2027. Another fellow is being groomed to fly their party governorship ticket.

“The former DSP is loosing it because of his political immaturity, penchant for lies, deception, greed, fractured personality, and battered political image. He won’t fly Delta APC governorship flag in 2027.

“One of his laughable political antics is to unnecessary and falsely accuse the performing governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori. That in itself is one of the reasons his popularity is fast diminishing as more Deltans continue to disassociate themselves from Agege, as well as in the APC factionalized political families.

“Governor Oborevwori has been adjudged as the most prudent manager of State resources by new media practitioners in Nigeria, he saved over N250 billion from operating cost, paid over N160 billion out of inherited state debt of over N400 billion, executingegs infrastructural projects across Delta State, including the rapid dualization of Ughelli-Asaba highway, several ongoing roads construction and rehabilitation, rapid construction of Beneku mega bridge, and other projects cutting across all sectors of the state economy, and counting.

“On a regular basis, the Oborevwori administration is empowering thousands of Deltans, youth and women, and also providing funds to boost existing Small and Media Scale Enterprises, SMEs in the state, running into billions of Naira.

“Governor Oborevwori is focused on the consistent delivery of dividends of democracy to all Deltans, irrespective of political or religious affiliation, and across the three senatorial districts. He will continue to do so as encapsulated in his MORE agenda.

“We have so many good stories to tell in Delta under the pragmatic and visionary leadership of governor Oborevwori. Deltans know what Agege is up to, but 2027 governorship is not for him. Somebody is already positioned with a running mate from Delta North Senatorial District.

“Governor Oborevwori is not ready for 2027 electioneering politics at this time. He’s working round the clock to Advance Delta through the instrumentality of the MORE Agenda under full scale implementation.

“At the appropriate time, governor Oborevwori and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will take the centre stage to exhibit her political supremacy, and to dislodge the APC effortlessly, because the governor’s solid achievements will resonate at the polls in 2027,” Oghenesivbe assured.
