𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗥:𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐎𝐣𝐞𝐢(𝐏𝐨𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐚𝐬 𝐖𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐨𝐱)
𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘: May 14, 2025
Fellow Deltans,
29th of May 2025 will mark two years since we were promised hope — two years since the defunct 𝐏𝐃𝐏 Government of Delta State was handed the mantle of leadership through the trust of the people and a campaign anchored on the 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚 genda. Today, as we look back, the reality before us is heartbreaking. Not a single campaign promise has been fulfilled. Not even one.
𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐭 “𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭,” “𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐥𝐥,” “𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲” But what have we gotten instead? Suffering, silence, insecurity, unemployment, and unaccountability. The lives of Deltans are now worth less than campaign billboards. Our youths roam jobless. Our industries are dead. Our streets are no longer safe. Our future is being auctioned in bits while the ruling class throws parties on social media.
𝐖𝐄 𝐀𝐒𝐊: 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭?
𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞?
𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐚 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭?
This administration has chosen to abandon the people who gave them power. Instead of governance, their focus is on the next election in 2027 — shamelessly campaigning for a power they’ve already abused, without care for who might even be alive by then. Is this what leadership has become? A selfish game of survival for the elites?
𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐠𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐥.
Those who dared to speak the truth have been sidelined, blackmailed, and painted dark when they are the light. I, 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝗷𝗲𝗶-𝘄𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗼𝘅 — have experienced this firsthand. I served briefly as SSA on Civil Societies and NGOs, with the 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲. But when truth is treated like a virus, it becomes impossible to stay silent. I resigned not out of fear, but out of duty — because someone has to say something when everyone else chooses to stay quiet.
And now I speak loud and clear:
The defunct 𝐏𝐃𝐏 government has failed Deltans.
Today, they dance with the same 𝐀𝐏𝐂 they once cursed, all in a desperate bid to escape the consequences of looting our collective wealth. They have become 𝐏𝐃𝐏𝐀𝐏𝐂 — a dangerous mix of political opportunists with no ideological direction, just a hunger for power and personal gain. Water and oil can never mix — and so too can selfishness and service never produce justice for the people.
𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐧:
Delta State receives one of the highest allocations at both state and local levels. But where is the money? What can we show for it? Where are the jobs? Where are the industries? Where is the hope?
𝐄𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡.
I call on all true Deltans — the youth, the women, the men who believe in justice and a better future — to rise with me. The time of silence is over. The era of empty stomachs and broken promises must end. Let us build a movement that will recover and rescue our dear Delta from the clutches of power-first politicians.
𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐚 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞— a coalition of the bold, the brave, and the betrayed. We are not waiting for 2027 to wake up. We are awake now. And when the time comes, we will respond with a 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐛𝐨𝐱 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞. It is time to reject those who lied to us, those who looted us, and those who fear the voice of the people.
Let this message spread — to every village, town, and city in Delta State.
