Saturday 14th of January, 2023 is a another remarkable day as the governorship candidate of Social Democratic Party SDP, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi OON accompanied by the Deputy Governor to be, Mrs. Rosemary Isioma Oshilim and his entourage led by the Campaign Director, Prof Jiff Mokobia a bossom friend of the king, Prof. Augustus Atubi, the Deputy Director General, and other SDP members took his campaigning to Isiokolo in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta state.

Gbagi in his usual style of giving honour to whom honour is due was received in grand style with all pleasures by the king, the Ovie of Agbon kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Mike Omeru, OGU-RIME-RIME, Ukori I, (JP) and his traditional chiefs during his visit to the king’s palace even as he delivers his Liberation message.

It becomes very remarkable as the Ovie of Agbon categorically declares the industralist as one who has been tested and trusted to govern the state, no doubt will take the state to the next level of development and progress.

The king went further to assure the people of Isiokolo in Ethiope East local government of vote of confidence on His Excellency, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi OON as his friend and that one candidate who has what it takes to actually deliver his promises unlike some other candidates after assuming the governorship position following his trends of activities even before now.

In his statement he expressed, “I am happy to receive Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, I know him very well, we are very close, if he calls me and tells me what he wants, I will tell him let’s get it done.

“When he was coming, he came with my subjects who are Professors, he is a household name. Gbagi does not need to be introduced to anybody, he is just like a moon in the sky that shines.

“You do not need to strain your eyes to see the moon shine, when it is off, everybody is in darkness and when the moon is on, everybody sees, that is the personality of Gbagi, he is well known everywhere.

“And having come to tell Deltans that he wants to be Governor from 2023, May 29th, it is worth it and it is what he is asking all Deltans to do for him.

“He has come to tell His Royal Majesty that this is his wish, I will not say that it is not necessary, it is very necessary that he comes up to say he wants to be the governor of Delta State.

“If it were possible for His Majesty to ask everyone to step down for him, I would have done that, but the issue of contest is totally different from issuing a policy statement.

“There are other contestants in the race. Some have come here, some are yet to come. The important thing in the whole issue is that all the contestants are from Delta Central.

“We have many political parties and that is why we have many candidates jostling for this governorship.

“But I am happy to note that Chief Kenneth Gbagi, is one of those who is also jostling for the very prime position of the governorship of Delta State.

“I have confidence in his ability to lead and to be a good governor of Delta state and I want to appeal to him that if it is the will of God and the will of the people of Delta State to become the governor, he should not renege in his usual good disposition to good governance because he has all it takes to be a good governor”, he declared.

In same vein, Gbagi and his SDP entourage went ahead to deliver his liberation message shop to shop to the people (women, youths) at the Kokori market while delivering free fuel to the transporter (keke and byke riders) in the community just to assure them that his campaign promises are not mere words like other candidates do but will definitely be kept if they vote him in as next governor of Delta state.

At the end, the visit was concluded in grand style as the king delivered prayes of support and blessings to the former minister, Gbagi and his entourage while some of the campaign train earned themselves chieftaincy title declaration which will manifest on the forthcoming third anniversary celebration of the royal king, Ovie of Agbon and the Director General of the campaign council, Prof. Jiff Mokobia is one of the lucky one.
