Ahead of Delta 2023 governorship election, the records on all governorship aspirants are very clear and straight even for the greenhorns just springing up to attempt contesting.
And this brings us back to the basic question of “what exactly is your interest as an aspirant? Is your interest selfless for a progressive state or selfish for retrogression?
If truth, capacity, performance, integrity come into play, will you be found wanting in terms of your current status and antecedents?
A quick look at each aspirant antecedents, in no particular order, as their record plays in their campaign manifestos and one cannot give what he does not possess…
Olorogun David Edevbie with the mandate of “Mordernising Delta state”, Yet No visible investment in the state thereby not in line with state investment which is suppose to bring mordenisation in Delta state.
Hon .Sheriff Oborevwori claimed “Industralizing the state” yet no tangible private investment in Delta state by self effort, thereby giving no hope for state investment and employment for Deltans and the state in general, very questionable”
Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi with the mandate of Industralization, massive employment, poverty eradication, modern education, infrastructural development, resurrection of moribund industries in which his selfless effort and passion for Delta state is very evidential and his performance is unquantifiable even before now as a trained criminologist, an selfless industrialist, business mogul, employer of labour disciplinarian with character.
Other greenhorn aspirants are not even close, desperate learners in the game to become leaders of today in politics instead of tomorrow in Delta but we should wish them well as they aspire to learn.
My dear Deltans, advice is meant to mould people better, but when given to the wise, it makes one becomes wiser and the foolish throws it away and become more foolish.
Deltans be wiser, help build Delta state for your children unborn.
