Delta Youths Enlistment into Military and Paramilitary services: Warri South Chairman Set the Pace.

On Friday, 23nd November, 2024, Delta State Awareness Creation Committee on Youth Enlistment into Military and Paramilitary services, led by it’s Chairman and Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon ThankGod Harry Trakiriowei Esq, had a fruitful interface with youths of Warri South Local Government Area.

 

The Committee Chairman explained that His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, decided to constitute the awareness committee to sensitize eligible youths through collaboration with local government council Chairmen, traditional rulers and faith based organisations, and also assist eligible Youths during online application processing, screening exercise and to provide logistics where necessary.

The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Comr. Weyinmi Isaac Agbateyiniro, thanked members of the committee for their visit and assured that his council would do the needful to assist eligible Youths in both the online application and enlistment processes.

 

He immediately announced that a special desk would be created to handle all matters relating to youth recruitment and enlistment into Military and Paramilitary services, to handle issuance of certificate of local government origin, recommendations by traditional rulers and other prominent citizens, provide N50,000 to assist any youth invited for screening at the Cenotaph Complex Asaba, and additional N150,000 to assist any youth enlisted or recruited to cover transportation and logistics to training destination anywhere in Nigeria.

 

The elated youths thanked the Council Chairman for his uncommon display of love and good governance strides. They assured His Excellency, Gov Sheriff Oborevwori and the Awareness committee of their readiness to apply online, going forward, especially for the ongoing Nigerian Air Force Batch B Direct Short Service Commission, DSSC, and the Nigerian Defence Academy, NDA, application for admission.

 

Speaking to newsmen at the awareness interface with youths of Warri South LGA, and during a live program on Crown FM Warri, Director General, Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, and member of the Committee, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe said recruitment or enlistment into Military and Paramilitary services creates job for youths in line with the wealth and job creation programmes and empowerment encapsulated in the governor’s MORE Agenda.

 

He disclosed that military and paramilitary services are pensionable, while recruits can further their education in any approved higher Institution, all expenses to be paid by the military where applicable.

 

Dr Oghenesivbe urged youths in Delta State to comply with the requirements for online application; five credits including English and mathematics for recruits, and a sound University Degree not less than Second Class Upper Division for NAF DSSC, excellent physical and Mental health condition, among other requirements, assuring that once the requirements are met their chances of being recruited or enlisted is very high.

 

“The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Comr. Weyinmi Isaac Agbateyiniro, has made our job much easier, and we are pretty sure that other local government council Chairmen would emulate his positive approach in youth enlistment into Military and Paramilitary services.

 

“The age limit for the ongoing Nigerian Air Force Direct Short Service Commission, online application is between 18 and 26 years, while medical consultant must not be above 40 years old by September 2025.

 

“Entry Qualification is a University Degree, Second Class Upper Division or Higher National Diploma, HND, Upper Credit. Interested and eligible Youths are to visit NAF website at: nafrecruitment.airforxe.mil.ng and those for the NDA admission should indicate NDA as first choice in JAMB forms, including other necessary requirements.

 

“We thank Warri South Local Government Council Chairmen, Comrade Agbateyiniro, for the uncommon hospitality accorded members of the State Awareness Committee at the Council’s lodge,” Oghenesivbe said.
