…politics remains the game of no permanent friends nor enemies

Nearly two months after falling apart over political differences in the race for next Governor of Delta state, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate for Delta 2023 governorship may have returned to talking terms again.
Relationship between once close political allies under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got severed days to the 2023 Delta governorship primary for the party when Gbagi accused Okowa of betrayal and breach of trust in the Governor’s reneging on an agreement to support him (Gbagi) to succeed him.
Okowa had, in the PDP primary, imposed his will on delegates to pick Delta Assembly Speaker, Sheriff Oborevwori as candidate for the 2023 guber, but not before Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, lawyer and top investor, sensing betrayal from Okowa, withdrew from the vexed primary to pick up the guber ticket for SDP.
With relationship between the two Delta political figures consequently got severed with both of them and supporters throwing banters at each other in a media war that had been on until the physical encounter at a function at the National Ecumenical Center during 12th General Assembly and Leadership Transition of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), held in Abuja.
With their paths crossed once again, Gbagi and Okowa couldn’t help but threw self into exchange of pleasantries in broad smiles, a scene that has brought up the talking point as to whether both parties have finally settled the rift and back to restore their once blossoming relations even as the said betrayal cannot be reversed anymore.
Meanwhile has continued to maintain in growing confidence that, he is the man to beat in next year’s governorship to end the Delta’s ruling PDP government of arrested development, greed and imposition of misfits into public offices.
It is very obvious that, Gbagi continues to remain the most qualified candidate, relevant and waxing stronger with SDP for the 2023 Governorship race.
It is now time for Deltans for the sake of the obvious from the previous trend of backwardness embrace unity, peace, progress and come together to vote for this one reformer, Gbagi who sabi, wey dey work before, wey go still fit work, make our lives better!
Gbagi, SDP remains the Truth Deltans must Embrace!
Deltans Wadooo!
We Moove!
